There is SO much a Physiotherapist can do with, and for, kids

  • Early Motor Development

The first few months of life are crucial for Gross Motor Development and getting babies on track to meet their motor milestones. PT can help babies who may struggle with head control, tummy time, hand use, rolling, sitting and crawling just to name a few.

  • Head & Neck Concerns

PT’s have a main role in helping to manage Plagiocephaly/Brachycephaly (flat spots) and Torticollis (tightness in the neck). If you notice your child keeps their head turned to one side, prefers to use one side of their body, or has a flat spot on their head; reach out!

  • Recovery post injury

Sprains and strains are often harder to recover from than fractures. But no matter what the injury Physio can help your little ones recover more safely and quickly, so they can get back to being a kid and running around with their friends.

  • Alignment Concerns

Whether foot, ankle, knee or hips, a PT can complete an overall gait an alignment assessment, provide any exercises that may be needed, or suggestion adaptations, or additions, to footwear

  • Gross Motor Delay

Gross motor delay can become apparent at any stage. Whether you have a late sitter, bum scooter, knee walker, late walker etc etc, PT’s are the experts in finding any possible cause and guiding your toddler through this motor development as well as guiding caregivers on how to help at home!

  • Tone Management

Kids can have high tone or low tone for lots of reasons. Some common examples are children who have a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy or Down Syndrome, amongst others. These children experience high, or low, tone that can have a significant impact on their ability to move and their overall development.

Children without a specific diagnosis can also have more mild difficulty with tone. An common example of this would be children who “W-sit” as this is often a sign of low muscle tone

PT can help with this, and can design an exercise program that caregivers can work on at home!

By nature kids are born wanting to explore and play. At any time, things can get in the way of that, or make this more difficult. My passion is to use my experience and knowledge to help kids reach their full potential!

Let’s work together to help provide the freedom to move!
